Nurhan Arman, Music Director of Sinfonia Toronto will make his fourth trip this season to Italy to conduct the renowned Orchestra Sinfonica 'Giacchino Rossini'.
The concert will take place on August 18 at the 15th century castle Rocca Costanza of Rossini's hometown Pesaro.
Italian piano virtuoso Andrea Bacchetti will be the soloist in Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23. Also on the program is a Mozart Divertimento and Khachaturian's Masquerade Suite.
Based in Pesaro, Orchestra Sinfonica 'Giacchino Rossini' makes its home at the Teatro Rossini. It performs both as a symphonic ensemble and as an opera orchestra. It appears regularly at the famous Rossini Opera Festival and tours in Italy and abroad. It has recorded many CDs of Rossini's music.
Maestro Arman is a frequent guest conductor in Italy. He has conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, l’Orchestra da Camera Milano Classica, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orchestra Sinfonico Tito Schipa, Florence Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico and at the Settimana Mozartiana festival as guest conductor with the Sibiu Hermanstadt Philharmonic.
Last March Maestro Arman conducted Orchestra Sinfonica 'Giacchino Rossini' both in Pesaro and on tour in Naples, Italy. He was immediately re-engaged for the orchestra's summer season next month.
