Hello Annette. We want to let you know what Zulal has been up to lately and what future plans lie ahead.
New Music
We have had our heads and hearts involved in creating new music since you last heard from us and are currently in the studio recording our next album, which will be released within the year. We are very excited about this album which will feature Zulal originals amongst our interpretations of village work songs, lullabies and lyric ballads.
Films
Zulal has made a foray into the film world with a soundtrack to Canadian filmmaker Garine Torossian's Stone Time Touch. The film is due to be shown at the MOMA next month, is currently making waves in the independent film festival circuit in Berlin and was shown as part of Yerevan's Golden Apricot International Film Festival this past summer. An original Zulal composition based on lyrics by Omar Khayyam will be featured in an upcoming documentary on the beloved Persian poet. Listen to Zulal's original composition named "Come Like Water, Go Like Wind" on myspace and also check out pictures, updates and posts.

Zulal took part in Mosaic this past January, an exciting showcase of Armenian musical talent in LA, presented by Hamazkayin. The concert featured some new pieces by Zulal that can be expected on the upcoming album, such as "Jakhrag", a song about village youth avoiding work at the spinning wheel and "Mogats Shoogen", a favorite village melody in which girls spy on their love interests at the market and have their say.
