Tenuto conto degli ultimi sviluppi della politica internazionale (l'indipendenza del Kosovo, gli sforzi dell'Azerbaijan a sciogliere il Gruppo Minsk dell'OSCE e le retoriche di guerra a Baku...) il Presidente Kocharian ritiene di rivedere la posizione del'Armenia sulla sicurezza e lo statuto di Karbakh. Riconoscere l'indipendenza di Karabakh oppure ratificare un accordo di difesa reciproca..........

President Kocharian Calls For Fresh Discussions On Karabakh Issue
Yerevan, April 1 /Armenpress/ Outgoing president Robert Kocharian spoke in favor of bringing the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution up for fresh discussions in Armenia
Kocharian was speaking yesterday in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, after meeting with its president Bako Sahakian.
Kocharian said some things are being changed in the world and there is the Kosovo precedent, there are Azerbaijani efforts to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group and take the conflict to UN, there are incessant war rhetoric in Baku, which forces Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh to revise their approaches concerning Nagorno-Karabakh's security and its final status.
According to Kocharian, Armenia should either recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state or replace it, for the time being, with signing a mutual defense agreement. He said such an agreement will hold Azerbaijan back from continuing its belligerent rhetoric.
