27 08 2008 - Meeting an Armenian Artist in Istanbul‏
Check out her website! http://www.evihan.com/
When you go you Istanbul and visit the Armenian Church (Üç Horan Ermeni Kilisesi) in Beyoğlu District; which is nowadays the most active art & entertainment centre of Istanbul, do not miss this charming boutique hidden away in a narrow Alley called Altypatlar.
The boutique and unique creations of the artist were mentioned in “Lonely Planet-Istanbul Travel Guide” and I was delighted to meet its Armenian owner and artist Kristine Evihan. Kristine’s creations are all one of a kind and you can find all kinds of odd accessories, from belts to necklaces, as well as embroidered shirts and gypsy skirts. Look especially for the gorgeous beads and custom made dresses tailored in specially woven fabrics.
Kristine Evihan
Altypatlar Sokak 8, Cukurcuma, Istanbul. Phone 0212-244-0034.
