“ARMENIA” SAILING VESSEL LAUNCHES WORLD TOUR TODAY
“Armenia” sailing vessel launches its world tour from Spanish Valencia on 28 May. During one-year long world tour “Armenia” will cast anchor in five continents, will pass three oceans – the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Indian. The sailing vessel will anchor all those places where there are Armenian communities.
Before sailing the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the crew of “Armenia”, President’s Cabinet reports.
It is believed that today there are no close lands in the world and such tour and its significance are somehow put under doubt, the President stressed: “The fortune of our people is arranged in a way that there are Armenians all over the word, and the map of our national identity is of great significance, the map of our cultural heritage and the map of the history of Armenian communities.”
Serzh Sargsyan says that the mission of this world tour is to discover and enrich the meaning of that world. “You are to gift the breath of homeland to our communities,” the President said.
President gave the state flag to the crew which should be returned back after they arrive in homeland. He wished them successful sailing and simultaneous wind.
