NAASR News Nov. 2009
|
Dear Friends:
NAASR will co-sponsor a public forum at Fordham University, "Americans Building Armenia," on Tuesday, November 10, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Fordham's Manhattan campus, 113 West 60 Street, in the Plaza Atrium.
Since the Republic of Armenia became independent in 1991, how have some Armenian-Americans helped to raise up this ancient nation? Leo Manuelian is a civil engineer who has headed Fuller Center teams building new homes in Armenia. The President of Megerian Rugs in New York City, Raffi Megerian, received the Armenian National Assembly's Gold Medal of Honor for his firm's remarkable work to restore the nation's ancestral rug industry. Dr. Garo Khanarian of Dow Chemical will note projects planned by the Armenian Engineers & Scientists of America (AESA). In this public forum, they will briefly review what they foresee in Armenia, and their own roles.
