Arshile Gorky and the Armenian National Trauma
On the occasion of the exhibition Arshile Gorky: A Retrospective, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR) present a special lecture by Prof. Richard G. Hovannisian, "Arshile Gorky and the Armenian National Trauma."

Moca Grand Avenue, Ahmanson Auditorium, 250 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Richard Hovannisian will discuss Gorky's relationship to Van and the history of the Armenian Genocide. Hovannisian is a professor of Armenian and Near Eastern history and Armenian Educational Foundation chair in modern Armenian history at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); the author or contributing editor of 25 volumes about Armenian or Armenian and Near Eastern history; and has served as a consultant to the California State Board of Education, contributing to the State's Social Studies Model Curriculum on Human Rights and Genocide.
