BEVERYLY HILLS—A group of young professionals launched the formation of the Artsakh Development Group (ADG) — a new non-profit, non-partisan organization to support and strengthen Artsakh through local activism and awareness.
In alliance with the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) and its U.S. appointed officials, ADG will work with California lawmakers and leaders to nurture and strengthen Artsakh and its people.
“Our volunteer force is comprised of educated and talented young professionals who have the skills and resources necessary to voice the concerns of our brothers and sisters in Artsakh,” said Sevak Kachadurian, President. “We are a new organization, but have the strength, passion and drive to meet our set objectives”.
In November, officers of the organization met with Nagorno Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan, Los Angeles based Consul General of the Republic of Armenia Grigor Hovhannissian and NKR Permanent Representative in the United States Robert Avetisyan. President Sahakyan expressed his excitement and support for the newly established organization and highlighted areas of opportunity to allow the organization to deliver maximum results in minimal time.
“We welcome the establishment of the Artsakh Development Group,” said Robert Avetisyan. “The very name of the organization speaks for itself, and we hope that our joint efforts will ensure a successful implementation of the organization’s mission — to foster Artsakh’s independent development by promoting its interests in the United States and contributing to the realization of economic projects in Nagorno Karabakh.”
The Artsakh Development Group has identified several key projects to undertake in the coming months.
“The need to promote awareness of unfolding current events as well as establish ties with U.S. lawmakers is of paramount importance,” said Pattyl Aposhian Kasparian, Board Member. “Our work starts in our backyard. Where else but Los Angeles do we have this ideal opportunity?”
“The Artsakh Development Group was recently formed to provide an outlet to communicate a wealth of information relatively unknown to the public at large in Los Angeles,” said Gerard V. Kassabian, Board Member. “ADG will provide volunteers to appear at venues to educate the public about Artsakh’s cultural heritage, rich history and current events.”
Artsakh Development Group, Inc., a California Corporation, is a tax exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)3.
