An exhibition of artworks by Iranian Armenians; ‎
‎ ‎
Iran’s Armenian association has organized an exhibition to showcase the artistic works by prominent ‎Iranian Armenians. Artworks in the fields of photography, painting, music, graphics, traditional ‎clothing, cinema, theater, sculpture, literature and poetry form different sections of the exhibition. ‎Meanwhile, this exhibition has provided an opportunity for Armenians to introduce their artists to ‎non-Armenians, who have played an influential role in Iranian art. The trace of Armenian art is ‎evident in most of art forms in the country. For example Iran’s first silent feature film called “Abi ‎and Rabi“ was directed by an Armenian called “Ovanes Ohanians” in 1929. Moreover in ‎photography, painting and especially in music Iranians will never forget the masterpieces created by ‎their Armenian fellow countrymen. Presently there are over 130,000 Armenians in Iran. Christianity, ‎Judaism and Zoroastrianism are the main officially recognized minority religions in Iran, which are ‎protected under the constitution and have representatives at the Iranian Parliament. ‎
