06 03 07 - WAR ON THE INTERNET
|
Turkish hackers attacked www.azad-hye.com last week and invaded its pages by placing their anti-Armenian hate pages of www.netbizim.net on the Armenian site that operates from Dubai.
Editor Hrach Kalsahakian informs Gibrahayer e-magazine, that a mirror site at www.azad-hye.net was quickly hoisted and the site was restored by the end of a 12 hour Internet siege.
Referring to the group behind the attack, Kalsahakian said that they are a group of anti-American fanatics who also hate the Armenians who had sent abusive e-mails containing extremist ideas, in the past few weeks and that he was convinced that the Internet attack was related to the protests of Armenians worldwide against the destruction of Khatchkars of old Julfa cemetery in Nakhichevan. He also stated that Azad Hye site had covered this subject extensively through a book that has been published in Aleppo by Avo Katerjian.
Azad Hye webmaster Hrach Kalsahakian also pointed out that the hacking also coincided with the publication of the interview of Gibrahayer e-magazine Editor Simon Aynedjian (see below), in which Aynedjian had said that he was “convinced that the Armenians of Cyprus will also become an example of co-existence with the Turkish Cypriots and as an extension will pave the road for a new Armeno-Turkish understanding”.
This is a concept that extremist Turks and Azerbaijanis fear to face, Kalsahakian concluded.
www.netbizim.net currently stands counter-attacked by unknown counter-hackers.

ARMENIA WILL RECOGNISE ARTSAKH IF TALKS FAIL
03.03.2006 (www.yerkir.am) - Despite the failure of the Rambouileet negotiations, there still are chances to reach a result through talks, Armenian President Robert Kocharian said in a televised interview on Wednesday. But if Azerbaijan decides to settle the conflict by using military force, Kocharian said, among other measures, Armenia will do the following:
• Armenia will recognize the Nagorno Karabakh Republic
• Legally formalise its responsibility for the security of the Karabakh
• Reinforce the security zone around Karabakh
• Further reforms in Armenia to ensure effective development of the economy
Kocharian also said that the Minsk Group co-chairmen are working to the maximum of their mandate. He also pointed out that the best format for the negotiations would be “between Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh with an active participation of Armenia.”
While Armenia is engaged in bilateral talks with Azerbaijan, that country is trying to make an impression that Armenia is aggressor, he said, adding that such arguments are no more taken seriously because everyone knows the core of the conflict.

Inspired by a recent wave of flag burning and according to PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, a workshop for the sewing of Armenian flags for public burning is operating in Baku.
Commenting on this phenomenon, political scientist Levon Melik- Shahnazaryan said that, “ I would like to remind that Armenia has trophy Azeri flags left in the battle field. If we start burning them every day they will be sufficient for a year. But fortunately nobody suffers from pyromania in Armenia,”

In the case of party members and people involved in community affairs it is achieved through increased participation in our community structures and decision making processes."
"I would like to think that Gibrahayer is also a tool that besides the information gateway it provides to its readers, it also invites them to think and act on the way we live our life in our communities and the way we contribute to our homelands."

... "We feel we are an integral part of Cyprus. It is important that Armenians in Cyprus live and prosper. We feel that we have to stay here to safeguard whatever belongs to us: our church, our schools, our history, our homes, having in mind our new role of aiding economically and politically our newly formed Republic of Armenia and newly liberated lands in Artsakh and supporting our national cause. I am convinced that the Armenians of Cyprus will also become an example of co-existence with the Turkish Cypriots and as an extension will pave the road for a new Armeno-Turkish understanding."
