06 04 05 - PRESIDENT AHMET NECDET SEZER VISITS MONUMENT TO TURKISH MARTYRS

President Ahmet Necdet Sezer paid tribute to the monument of Turkish martyrs erected to memory of the Turkish battalers at the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
The President of Turkey was informed on monument built in memory of 1130 Turkish soldiers who fell in battles against the Bolshevik-dashnak troops in 1918. Turkish and Azeri architects have erected the monument.

The monument was opened in 2000 in attendance of the Turkish and Azerbaijani Presidents. Similar monuments have been erected in another five regions of Republic to the Turkish battlers.

President Ahmet Necdet Sezer laid a wreath on the monument.
