On the occasion of the ninty first (91) anniversary of the Armenian Genocide a commemorative event will be held at Glendale United Community Church - 333 E.
Colorado Blvd.- on Saturday April 22, 2006 starting 7.30 p.m., sponsored by Organization of Istanbul Armenians and Nor Serount Cultural Association.

The keynote speaker is renowned Turkish scholar Ragip Zarakoglu,director of Belge International Publishers, in Istanbul, who for almost 30 years has exhibited extraordinary courage by publishing books in Turkey that are about taboo subjects many of them on the histories of the minority peoples of TurkeyÂ-the Armenians, Kurds, Greeks.

In November of last year, writer Peter Balakian shared his 2005 Rapahel Lemkin prize from the Institute for the Study of Genocide, with Mr. Zarakoglu.
