Vahan-Israel Hovhannes Pilikian was a genocide survivor who lived to age 95. In the evening of April 25, 1997, a day prior his death, he presented a rendition of a passage from his "Memoirs" during Genocide commemorations in London. It described his mother's Description: Description: http://www.keghart.com/sites/default/files/images2/Pilikian-Mansion.jpgnear death in the desert due to dehydration during deportation. "Miraculously" that night it snowed and his mother survived. The 250-page "Memoirs" are hand-written in Armenian but digitalized at London's HAYASHEN by his son Prof. Khatchatur Pilikian assisted by Argam Shahinian. A copy is kept at London’s HAYASHEN and another one is sent to Dr Raymond Kevorkian for the Paris AGBU Noubarian Library. Any Armenian library or museum in Canada and U.S interested in having a copy may contact Prof. Pilikian or write to dikran@keghart.com The brief introduction in Armenian is penned by Prof. Pilikian, following which is his father's recollections. Likewise, the painting representing the "Pilikian Mansion on the Hill” in the ancestral homeland is his creation based on his "dad's own tale of it in the Memoirs”-- already published in his Trilogy in 2011.
